Congestion, Turn Signals, Protests, Playground Research, The Bryne-Cam…(W.C)

Things to note for this upcoming week: Monday night’s City Commission meeting has a Complete Streets resolution on the agenda. I’ll have a longer post about it on Monday morning. They will also be discussing cross-walk laws and TIGER Grants–roar. On Tuesday night, the Planning Commission again reviews the transportation section of the updated master plan. On Thursday night, the Parks and Recreation Commission will be discussing the continued drama of Clinch Park improvements, an urban dog park, the proposed Elmwood Beach clearing, Clancy Park, Park Use Policy and welcoming three new members-whew.

All or any of these items could use public support and comment. City boards and commissions need to hear from more YIMBYs.

Weekly Chatter

Unfortunately the protesters, who’s hearts are undoubtedly in the right place, are chasing the tail and not the head.

  • RT @iOnPoverty: “We are here on earth to do good to others. What the others are here for, I don’t know.” – W.H. Auden, 20th Century American poet.
  • RT @neiltyson: Odd: Sporty cars in TV ads are always driven sideways. Wheel inventors Trog & Lodyte would wonder if we grasped the principle.
  • RT JPBarlow: If you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its life believing it is stupid. – A. Einstein
  • RT tony_yet : “We are continually faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems.” – John W. Gardner
  • RT TweedRideTC : We’re unilaterally declaring October to be #TweedMonth. Plan accordingly.

To Wrap

Bike through Times Square with David Bryne…like a vacation.

Have a weekend.
