Not as Entertaining as GOP Debate, But Still Useful

Last night’s candidate forum held by the Chambers and League of Women Voters will be aired several more times before Nov. 8th, as well as being available for streaming from the UpNorthMedia website (after Thurs).

Don’t expect any major surprises; no one came out and said bulldoze the neighborhoods, build a sky scraper or pave the bay. They shared their insights about downtown and neighborhood issues, a lot about streets, focusing on dollar amounts rather than specific designs and some of them even chimed in on the train ride, proposal 1 and  Accessory dwelling units (ADUs). I’m not prepared to speak about each candidate at this time, but their individual approaches and philosophies began to take form last night. In fact, that was the first question, so if you have limited time  or interest, you can watch the first  20 minutes. They were asked to lead off answering:

If your ideas and philosophy take hold, what will be different in Traverse City four /two years from now that you will be able to point to with pride, because it was accomplished due to your efforts?

If you watched the forum, did you see anything significant?

I can’t find it on the UpNorthMedia site and your link to the first 20 minutes doesn’t lead to that, just to the site itself. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Max, it looks like it won’t be streamed online until after Thursday’s re-broadcast.
